This forum was held to share opinions with student council executives from middle and high schools in the jurisdiction on preventing school violence, following the lifting of COVID-19 social distancing measures, which led to a return to normal school attendance and increased outdoor activities among youth.
Focusing on the topic of school violence, the forum analyzed types of school violence crimes, frequently occurring cyber violence, and recent issue crimes. Participants discussed the causes of crimes as perceived by youth, solutions, and expectations from the local community and police.
Regarding school violence prevention education, there was also an opinion that, rather than rote learning, effective education should involve students directly researching relevant laws, punishments, and disciplinary measures related to recent cases to raise their own awareness.
