Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the objectives of the special military operation in Ukraine will definitely be achieved.
On the 9th (local time), according to TASS news agency, President Putin made this remark after attending the military parade held at Red Square to commemorate the end of World War II (Russia's Victory Day).
He said during a meeting with the father of Vladimir Joga, the commander of the Russian 'Spart' battalion who was killed in action in the battle in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine, "Our soldiers are fighting bravely, heroically, and professionally," adding, "All the planned objectives are being carried out."
President Putin further explained, "The objectives will be achieved, and there is not the slightest doubt about this."
This statement appears to clearly indicate that the Russian military will continue the special military operation in Ukraine until the set goals are accomplished.
Explaining the inevitability of the operation in Ukraine, Putin said, "If there had been even the slightest chance to resolve this issue by other peaceful means, we would have certainly taken that opportunity," but added, "However, we had no other choice."
Vladimir Joga is reported to have been killed on March 5 in the Volnovakha area of Donetsk Oblast in eastern Ukraine. President Putin awarded him the title of 'Hero of Russia,' the highest honor given to Russian soldiers.
