People Power Party Jeju Provincial Party Appoints Kim Young-jin as Public Official Committee Chairperson
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Chang-won] The Jeju Provincial Party of the People Power Party has also formed the 8th Nationwide Simultaneous Local Elections Nomination Management Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Nomination Committee) and has begun full-scale nomination work.
According to the People Power Party on the 31st, the Central Party Supreme Council appointed Kim Young-jin, Acting Chairman of the Jeju Provincial Party, as the chairman of the Jeju Provincial Party Nomination Committee and approved a proposal for seven committee members.
Chairman Kim will concurrently serve as the Acting Chairman of the Provincial Party, Chairman of the Jeju-si Gap Party Committee, and Nomination Committee Chairman, thereby exercising nomination rights.
Once the Nomination Committee is officially launched, it will hold its first meeting next week to discuss the People Power Aptitude Test (PPAT), candidate registration, and nomination schedules.
The People Power Party has decided to conduct a 30-question test covering party regulations and the Public Official Election Act for prospective local election candidates.
Not only proportional representation candidates but also prospective candidates for Jeju Provincial Assembly must take the test.
The Jeju Provincial Party Nomination Committee will comprehensively review candidates’ identity, electability, morality, expertise, trust with local voters, and contribution to the party to determine the nominees.
Applications for the gubernatorial candidate, managed by the Central Party Nomination Committee, will be accepted until the 6th of next month.
Applications for provincial assembly candidates, managed exclusively by the Provincial Party Nomination Committee, are expected to be accepted until the 8th of next month.
