Promise to Expand Budget by Leveraging Extensive Personal Network

Lee Don-seung, Wanju County Governor Preliminary Candidate, "I Will Open an Era of 900 Billion Won Budget, 500 Billion Won National Budget!"

[Wanju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Lee Don-seung, a preliminary candidate for Wanju County Governor, pledged to open the era of "900 billion KRW budget, 500 billion KRW national budget."

On the 30th, candidate Lee Don-seung stated in a press release, "The Wanju County budget will surpass 900 billion KRW during my term, laying the foundation for the era of a 1 trillion KRW budget."

In particular, candidate Lee declared that he will make every effort to secure an absolute national budget for budget increase and regional development by actively utilizing his extensive central government network.

Candidate Lee said, "I have a solid political and governmental network built through my work at the Insurance Supervisory Service (now Financial Supervisory Service), as well as serving in the 1997 Kim Dae-jung presidential candidate's election planning team and as an administrative officer (Economic Division 1) in the presidential transition committee of President-elect Kim Dae-jung," emphasizing, "Current Democratic Party Emergency Committee Chairman Representative Yoon Ho-jung, Minister of SMEs and Startups Kwon Chil-seung, Representative Ki Dong-min, and Representative Kang Hoon-sik are my strong allies from those days."

Candidate Lee also said, "I have close ties with Jeonbuk natives including four-term Representative Ahn Kyu-baek, former floor leader Hong Young-pyo, and Representative Lee Soo-jin (Seoul Dongjak-gu), as well as with Representative So Byung-chul (Jeonnam Suncheon, Gwangyang, Gokseong, Gurye district) and Representative Ko Min-jung (Seoul Gwangjin-gu)," and expressed, "I will mobilize all my connections to ensure that Wanju County's budget can stand shoulder to shoulder with other cities."

Meanwhile, Wanju County's budget (general account basis) increased from 535.8 billion KRW in 2014 to 802.6 billion KRW in 2022, a rise of 266.8 billion KRW (47.8%) over eight years.

Additionally, Wanju County's national budget was only 214.2 billion KRW in 2014 but surged by 237.1 billion KRW (110.6%) to 451.3 billion KRW in 2022.
