[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] ‘Kushimasa,’ a skewered fried food (Kushikatsu) specialty restaurant highly rated on social networking services (SNS) as a popular eatery, has launched a convenience store menu.
Kushimasa announced on the same day that it will introduce ready-to-eat meals featuring its signature menu items in collaboration with convenience store CU starting from the 29th.
Kushimasa is a skewered fried food specialty restaurant located in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, and Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, known as a popular dining spot praised for its chef’s special dishes. Taste reviews have been posted on SNS and other platforms, gaining nationwide fame beyond Seoul. According to Kushimasa, online word-of-mouth has spread so widely that reservations require waiting for over a year.
The Kushimasa triangular gimbap aligns with the concept of a fried food specialty restaurant. It features thick pork cutlet toppings and Kushimasa’s special terimayo sauce wrapped in rice balls.
Kushimasa plans to release other convenience store menu items such as hamburger steak triangular gimbap. In the future, they also plan to sell menus like highball and frozen pork cutlets through both online and offline channels.

Kim Jimin, CEO of Kushimasa, said, “We have been operating the restaurant with a membership system for six years, but this is the first time we are introducing our own recipe menu through an external convenience store, so expectations are high. We will develop a variety of Kushimasa’s menus, which are characterized by very thin and non-greasy batter, so that anyone can enjoy them.”
