Wemade Makes Strategic Investment in Softon Entertainment
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Wemade announced on the 28th that it has made a strategic investment in the online game developer 'Softon Entertainment.'
Founded in 1999, Softon Entertainment developed and services titles such as 'DarkEdenM' and 'DarkEden Origin' using the intellectual property (IP) of the world's first horror action 2D massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) 'DarkEden,' and is actively pursuing entry into the global market.
Wemade explained, "This investment is a long-term investment in developers following recent investments in Action Square and Some Age, decided in recognition of Softon's excellent development capabilities and service competence."
Previously, Wemade signed an onboarding contract for DarkEden on the WEMIX platform in December last year. The two companies plan to build a broad cooperative relationship to generate business synergy in the future.
