View original imagePresident-elect Yoon Suk-yeol will meet with Koichi Aiboshi, the Ambassador of Japan to Korea, on the morning of the 28th.
Kim Eun-hye, spokesperson for the President-elect, stated at the briefing room of the Presidential Transition Committee set up at the Financial Supervisory Service Training Institute in Tongui-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, that "(President-elect Yoon) will receive a courtesy visit from Ambassador Aiboshi today, following the congratulatory call with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on the 11th."
Originally, President-elect Yoon was scheduled to receive Ambassador Aiboshi on the afternoon of the 17th, but the schedule was postponed after Ambassador Aiboshi tested positive for COVID-19.
During the meeting, President-elect Yoon and Ambassador Aiboshi are expected to exchange views on Korea-Japan relations.
Earlier, on the 11th, President-elect Yoon had a phone call with Prime Minister Kishida of Japan for about 15 minutes.

At that time, President-elect Yoon said, "Since Korea and Japan have many future tasks to cooperate on, such as Northeast Asian security and economic prosperity, let us work together," and added, "After taking office, I hope that the trilateral cooperation among Korea, the U.S., and Japan will be further strengthened regarding issues on the Korean Peninsula."
