View original imageThe Presidential Transition Committee (PTC) has decided to add a press room, rather than a 'tent press room,' at the Financial Supervisory Service Training Center in Tongui-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, where President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol's office is located. This space is expected to be used until the presidential office moves to the Yongsan Ministry of National Defense building.
Kim Eun-hye, spokesperson for the President-elect, visited the 'Press Dabang' set up in front of the PTC office in Tongui-dong on the 27th and said, "The President-elect has instructed to prepare a press room and briefing room on the first floor of the Tongui-dong office."
Currently, the PTC office in Tongui-dong only has a temporary tent-style press room called 'Press Dabang' outside the building. Although a separate press room and briefing room have been installed at the Samcheong-dong Financial Training Center where PTC briefings continue, the Tongui-dong PTC office, which houses the President-elect's office and PTC divisions, lacks space, so only an outdoor 'tent press room' was created.
The 'tent press room' was initially not available, but as reporters faced inconvenience waiting on the street, President-elect Yoon personally ordered its installation. He later held two impromptu tea meetings there to communicate with reporters.
After installing the tent press room, President-elect Yoon, still facing space constraints, instructed to prepare a press room on the first floor of the Tongui-dong office. This is interpreted as an expression of his intention to be a president who frequently communicates with the media and engages in dialogue with the public.

Spokesperson Kim said regarding the completion of the new press room, "It may take about a day to fully equip it with press materials and desks." If the move of the presidential office to the Yongsan Ministry of National Defense building is delayed, this press room is expected to continue to be used as a press room even after President-elect Yoon's inauguration.
