‘Daehan Lived’ ... Miryang Office of Education Holds 103rd Anniversary Event of the March 13 Manse Movement

Gyeongnam Miryang Office of Education will hold the 103rd anniversary event of the Miryang Education Family 3·13 Manse Movement on the 28th and present the original musical Gwangya (曠野).

The Office of Education stated that under the theme "Daehan Lived," it prepared the event together with Miryang City Hall to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the death of independence activist Seokjeong (石鼎) Yoon Se-ju, a member of the Miryang Uiyeoldan, and to promote patriotism and historical awareness.
The event will be held in three parts: a pre-ceremony event, the 103rd anniversary commemoration of the Miryang Manse Movement, and the presentation of the musical Gwangya, inviting five representative families of national merit independence activists from Miryang.
The first part, the pre-ceremony event, will include a photo zone, writing messages of patriotism, viewing an exhibition of patriotic poems and paintings, and screening a commemorative video of the 103rd anniversary of the Miryang Manse Movement.
The second part, the commemorative event, will feature a special event where 16 guests, including five descendants of Miryang independence activists, write calligraphy with the phrase "Daehan Lived. Miryang 3·13 Manse Movement 103rd Anniversary Commemoration," followed by a choir performance of the "Independence Army Song" by the Seokjeong Children's Choir.
The third part will be a performance of the original musical "Gwangya (曠野)" prepared by the Seokjeong Orchestra, composed of students from Miryang Film High School and the Miryang education family.
The original musical "Gwangya" dramatizes the life of activist Yoon Se-ju, who was born in Miryang, led the first Manse Movement in Yeongnam on March 13, 1919, joined the Uiyeoldan with Kim Won-bong, Kim Dae-ji, Kim Sang-yoon, and others, and depicts his life until his death during the independence war at Taihang Mountain (太行山) in June 1942.
