The Presidential Transition Committee (Transition Committee) began receiving government work reports starting with the Ministry of National Defense on the 22nd. The Transition Committee plans to receive a work report from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, which is facing abolition controversy, on the 25th.
Shin Yong-hyun, spokesperson for the Transition Committee, stated at a regular briefing held at the Korea Institute of Finance in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, "We are receiving reports that include the achievements and issues of the past five years, key tasks for each ministry centered on presidential election pledges for the next five years, and the new government's urgent issues and risk response plans."
The Transition Committee's Foreign Affairs and Security Subcommittee received work reports from Ministry of National Defense officials, including the Personnel Welfare Office, Defense Policy Office, and Defense Reform Office, at the Transition Committee office in Tongui-dong from 9:30 a.m. that day. Regarding the relocation of the presidential office, it was explained that since this is being handled by the Blue House relocation task force directly under President-elect Yoon, it will not be covered in the Ministry of National Defense's work report.
It is expected that the Ministry of National Defense reported on North Korea's successive provocations and the current status of South Korea-U.S. cooperation posture during the work report. President-elect Yoon also said at the Transition Committee secretariat meeting regarding North Korea's recent multiple rocket launcher launches, "Isn't this a violation of the September 19 (Inter-Korean Military Agreement)? It is a clear violation," and added, "Please thoroughly manage the security situation without any gaps."
The Transition Committee plans to receive work reports from major ministries by the 25th. On the 28th and 29th, it will receive reports from the remaining ministries. Although the work reports are conducted at the Transition Committee offices in Tongui-dong and Samcheong-dong, the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Fair Trade Commission will be visited directly in Sejong by the Transition Committee to receive their reports. The High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Unit (PCC) and the National Election Commission will share current issues in the form of meetings rather than work reports.
The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family's work report is scheduled for the 25th. Spokesperson Shin said, "On the 25th, the Social, Cultural, and Welfare Subcommittee will receive work reports from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Environment, and the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family." He explained, "Although the abolition of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family is a campaign pledge of President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol, there is no policy to abolish the ministry, and it is a matter to be discussed by the Presidential Transition Committee."

Regarding the order of work reports, it was explained that it is not based on the importance of ministries but proceeds in the order prepared through consultation between subcommittee members and ministries. Spokesperson Shin said, "The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family was included in the ministry reports because the Planning Office compiled the schedule, and it was included from the beginning (in the schedule). I understand it was not added later."
