View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] A 1-strong, 3-medium, and 1-weak structure is forming in the suitability survey for the Wando County Governor candidates in Jeonnam ahead of the nationwide simultaneous local elections to be held on June 1.
According to the results announced on the 22nd from a survey conducted by Daily Research on behalf of Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters from the 18th to 19th targeting 504 men and women aged 18 or older residing in Wando County, the suitability for county governor showed Shin Woo-cheol, the current Wando County Governor, leading with 32.1%, followed by Shin Young-gyun, Vice Chairman of the Jeonnam Provincial Party of the Democratic Party, at 20.4%, Ji Young-bae, former Jeonnam Provincial Director, at 17.1%, Kim Shin, former Wando County Council member, at 16%, and Park In-cheol, Wando County Council member, at 6.7%. Other candidates accounted for 1.8%, no suitable candidate 1.7%, and don't know 4.2%.
Among those in their 50s, former Wando County Council member Kim Shin had the highest suitability at 26.1%, while except for those in their 20s and 50s, other age groups rated Governor Shin Woo-cheol's suitability highly.
In the electability survey, Governor Shin received 37.6%, more than twice as high as other candidates.
By region, in the 1st electoral district (Wando-eup, Nohwa-eup, Soan-myeon, Bogil-myeon), Governor Shin received 34.8%, Shin Young-gyun of the Democratic Party Jeonnam Provincial Party 19.4%, Ji Young-bae former Jeonnam Provincial Director 16.1%, Kim Shin former Wando County Council member 13.7%, and Park In-cheol Wando County Council member 9.4%.
In the 2nd electoral district (Geumil-eup, Gunoe-myeon, Sinji-myeon, Gogeum-myeon, Yaksan-myeon, Cheongsan-myeon, Geumdang-myeon, Saengil-myeon), Governor Shin received 41.3%, Kim Shin former Wando County Council member 17.8%, Vice Chairman Shin 15.2%, former Director Ji 13.8%, and Council member Park 5%.
In this local election, the most important factor for residents in choosing candidates was regional development pledges (31.7%), followed by administrative capability (30.6%), integrity and responsibility (27%), and harmony and unity (3.8%).
Regarding Governor Shin's administration, 48.2% evaluated it positively, 43.6% negatively, and 8.2% responded that they did not know well.

This survey was conducted via wired and wireless ARS telephone surveys, with 89% virtual mobile phone numbers provided by telecom companies and 11% wired phone RDD. The final response rate was 11.1%, and the sampling error was ±4.4%p at a 95% confidence level. Weighting was applied by gender, age, and region based on the resident registration population as of February 2022 from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (cell weighting).
