In an interview with KBS Radio on the same day, Rep. Kwon said, "I have decided not to take a role in the transition committee," adding, "(The cabinet) is not even a topic for discussion at all."
There had been speculation that Rep. Kwon would join the transition committee following the appointment of Rep. Jang Je-won, classified as a key associate of President-elect Yoon, as Chief of Staff, but Kwon directly denied this.
Rep. Kwon stated, "If all the so-called influential people take positions, do you think the political circles or the media will just leave it alone?" and added, "Why would I do something that invites criticism?" He explained, "I initially chose Candidate Yoon and joined the campaign solely with the goal of regime change. Since that goal has been achieved, I believe that fulfilling my role as a member of the National Assembly is the way to support President-elect Yoon."
Regarding criticism that there was a large discrepancy between a survey conducted by the People Power Party’s think tank, the Yeouido Institute, and the actual election vote share, he responded, "Gender division analysis seems inappropriate because much of the 2030 generation’s support shifted from Lee Jae-myung (Democratic Party) to our candidate anyway," and added, "In the end, I think our complacency, arrogance, and carelessness may have influenced the voting."
Rep. Kwon clarified that he has never politically exploited generational or gender conflicts. He said, "It was rather the Democratic Party that stirred this up and framed it as a gender conflict," explaining, "Since we received enthusiastic support from young men in their 20s, they packaged it that way to gain support from young women in their 20s."

Regarding the abolition of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, he said, "The abolition of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family was a campaign pledge since the MB (Lee Myung-bak) administration," adding, "In cases of sexual violence and harassment, the ministry did not listen to the victims but rather sided with the perpetrators and those in power. There was much criticism that the ministry only supported civic groups advocating extreme feminism." He continued, "The abolition means transferring its functions to other ministries, not to provoke gender conflict," and emphasized, "Please do not misunderstand."
