"20,000 Foreign Volunteers Say 'We Will Fight with Ukraine' and Head to Ukraine"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyunjung] According to CNN on the 6th (local time), about 20,000 international volunteers have entered Ukraine in response to the Russian military invasion. Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine's Foreign Minister, said in an interview with CNN that day, "Most of them came from European countries."
He explained, "Many people around the world hate Russia and what has happened in recent years, but no one has openly opposed and fought against it. However, the sight of Ukrainians fighting and not giving up motivated many people to participate."
Foreign Minister Kuleba added, "I understand the desire to contribute, but receiving sustainable political, economic, and military support is most important." He also emphasized, "Especially in this training, American leadership focusing on air defense is necessary."
