Lee Jung-jae Independent Spirit Awards Best Actor
Honored Again Following the Screen Actors Guild Award
Actor Lee Jung-jae added another trophy with the Netflix original 'Squid Game.' On the 6th (local time), he was announced as the winner of the Best Male Lead in a TV Series at the 37th Independent Spirit Awards. This honor came shortly after he won the same award at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on the 27th of last month. This is the second time a Korean actor has been selected as a winner at this ceremony, following Youn Yuh-jung's Best Supporting Actress win for the film 'Minari' last year. 'Squid Game' had previously won trophies at major U.S. award ceremonies such as the Gotham Awards, People's Choice Awards, Golden Globes, and the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
