Early Voting Ahn Cheol-soo: "I Leave the Evaluation of My Unification Choice to the People"
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] Ahn Cheol-soo, leader of the People Party who withdrew from the presidential race after unifying with Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, cast his early vote on the morning of the 5th at the Yeoui-dong Community Center in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.
Right after concluding the disbandment ceremony of his campaign near the National Assembly in Yeouido, Ahn headed straight to the early voting site. After voting, he told reporters, "What I must do now is to do my best for regime change and for the election of candidate Yoon," adding, "Also, my role is to form and prepare a successful government."
He continued, "I made the decision to unify for regime change. I will leave the evaluation of my sincerity and choice to the people."
When asked how he felt seeing the word 'withdrawn' marked next to his name 'Ahn Cheol-soo' printed on the ballot paper, he said, "It was a calm feeling because it was the result of my decision."

At around 2:30 p.m. that day, Ahn planned to support Yoon's campaign rally in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, and at around 6 p.m., another rally in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Initially, he had planned to participate only in the Icheon rally but changed his schedule to also join the Gwangjin rally in Seoul.
