View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] As of 10 a.m. on the second day of early voting for the presidential election on the 5th, the nationwide cumulative voter turnout was recorded at 21.62%.
According to the National Election Commission, as of 10 a.m. that day, 9,556,310 out of 44,197,692 registered voters nationwide participated in voting.
The nationwide turnout rate counted by 10 a.m. that day was 7.47 percentage points higher than that of the 19th presidential election (14.15%). It was also 6.46 percentage points higher than the recent nationwide 21st National Assembly election turnout rate (15.16%).
By region, Jeonnam had the highest turnout at 33.58%, and Jeonbuk (30.81%) also surpassed 30%. Gwangju followed with 29.14%. Daegu had the lowest turnout at 19.08%, followed by Gyeonggi (19.13%) and Incheon (19.41%). Seoul's turnout was 21.38%, slightly below the national average.

View original imageEarly voting for the presidential election began simultaneously at 6 a.m. on the previous day (the 4th) at 3,552 polling stations nationwide and is conducted for two days from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Voters can vote at any early voting station nationwide regardless of their registered address, as long as they bring their ID. Polling station locations can be checked on the National Election Commission website and portal sites.
