On the First Day of Early Voting, Jeonnam Records '28.11%'... Highest Among Metropolitan Autonomous Entities

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] On the first day of early voting for the 20th presidential election, Gwangju, Jeonnam, and Jeonbuk recorded voter turnout rates of 24.09%, 28.11%, and 25.54%, respectively.
According to the Central Election Commission on the 4th, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. that day, out of 129,206 eligible voters in the Gwangju area, 291,288 completed voting.
By autonomous district, the turnout rates were 27.76% in Dong-gu, 24.26% in Seo-gu, 26.09% in Nam-gu, 24.84% in Buk-gu, and 21% in Gwangsan-gu.
The voter turnout in Gwangju at the same time during the last presidential election was 15.66%, which is 8.43 percentage points lower.
In Jeonnam, out of 1,581,278 eligible voters, 444,440 participated in voting, resulting in a turnout rate of 28.11%, the highest among metropolitan autonomous entities.
By region, Sinan recorded the highest turnout rate at 38.15%, followed by Jangseong-gun at 35.90%, Gokseong-gun at 34.83%, Jangheung-gun at 34.48%, Gangjin-gun at 33.36%, Hampyeong-gun at 33.34%, and Gurye-gun at 33.32%.
In Jeonbuk, out of 1,533,125 eligible voters, 391,533 cast their votes.
Jinan-gun had the highest turnout at 35.64%, followed by Jangsu-gun at 35.52%, Imsil-gun at 35.07%, 34.15%, Muju-gun at 32.48%, and Buan-gun at 32.31%.
