Before voting, Lee handed his ID to the election official, went through the identity verification process, and then entered the voting tent with the envelope and ballot received from the official.
After voting, Lee placed his ballot into the ballot box, casting a precious vote in Gwangju. His face was full of composure, seemingly reflecting his determination to show a changed image of the People Power Party in Gwangju and the Honam region.

He continued, "The people know that candidate Yoon Seok-yeol has made more efforts for the Gwangju and Honam regions than in any other election," and promised, "We will strive to implement many pledges related to Gwangju and Honam from the transition committee stage."
He also said, "Although it may still be difficult to get more votes than the opposing candidate, I want to make sure the local residents know that every additional vote contributes significantly to the record of vote share in the Honam region, which will be recorded in history," stimulating the voting sentiment of Gwangju citizens.
