Former Minister Oh Young-kyo Appointed as Chairman of the Win-Win Growth Committee..."Strengthening Mutual Cooperation Among Economic Actors"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Win-Win Growth Committee appointed Oh Young-gyo, former Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (photo), as the 6th chairman on the 4th.
On the same day, the committee held its 69th meeting at the JW Marriott Hotel Seoul in Seocho-gu, Seoul, and appointed former Minister Oh as the new chairman.
Chairman Oh was unanimously appointed upon recommendations from economic organizations and related institutions such as the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business, and the Korea Association of Mid-sized Enterprises. His term is two years starting from March 5, 2022.
He diagnosed, "Our economy is facing internal difficulties as polarization issues are inherent, compounded by market contraction due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic." In particular, he stated, "Externally, uncertainties in domestic and international economic conditions are increasing due to the US-China trade dispute and escalating US-Russia confrontation and conflicts, intensifying competition."

He continued, "Efforts to strengthen the international competitiveness of our companies must take priority in response to changes in domestic and international markets," adding, "I want to contribute to making sustainable growth of our economy possible and creating a society where everyone prospers together by enhancing win-win cooperation efforts not only between large and small-medium enterprises but also among various economic and social actors."
