US Secretary of State Appeals for Peace to Russian People via Twitter
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinken posted a message on his Twitter account on the 26th (local time) appealing for peace to the Russian people.
In a tweet posted side by side in Russian and English, Secretary Blinken wrote, "To the Russian people. You deserve to live with dignity in peace, just like the people of Ukraine." He concluded the brief message by saying, "This is true for all people of all countries."
In another tweet, Secretary Blinken stated, "The United States and Ukraine today mark the 8th anniversary of Russia's invasion of the Crimean Peninsula," adding, "This is a prior violation of international law and a precedent that disregards Ukraine's territory and sovereignty."
