Voice Phishing Scam Caught in 20 Minutes
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Two Chinese men who fled with 10 million won as voice phishing couriers were arrested by the police.
On the 23rd, the Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul announced that they had arrested two Chinese men on fraud charges on the 21st.
At around 3:30 PM that day, a victim in his 60s, Mr. A, reported to the Gwangnaru Police Substation after falling victim to a voice phishing scam.
Subsequently, the Gwangjin Police Station and substation officers staked out the victim's residence and apprehended the voice phishing couriers within 20 minutes. It was reported that the couriers told the victim, "Since your account was exposed due to voice phishing, if you want to protect your money, leave it at home."
