Twosome Place Introduces Two Types of Plant-Based Protein Hot Sandwiches
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Twosome Place announced on the 23rd that it will launch two types of plant-based protein hot sandwiches.
Plant-based protein, also known as plant-based meat alternative, is a substitute food made by adding dietary fiber and plant-based oils to plant proteins extracted from soybeans and wheat to create a chewy texture and moistness similar to meat. Plant-based protein has recently gained attention as one of the lifestyle practices for 'value consumption.' According to the Korea Rural Economic Institute, the domestic market size for plant-based protein-based alternative foods is expected to grow from $47.6 million in 2016 to $216 million by 2026.
Since February last year, Twosome Place has been continuously expanding its lineup after being the first domestic franchise cafe to introduce a panini using plant-based protein.
The new Combination Sandwich is a product that recreates the popular combination pizza as a sandwich. It is filled with olives marinated in barbecue sauce, green bell peppers, corn, and plant-based protein toppings between the bread, making it a great option for a meal.
