Air Busan Increases Busan~Saipan Flights to Twice Weekly
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Air Busan announced on the 22nd that it will increase the Busan~Saipan route by one flight per week starting from the 16th of next month, operating twice a week (Wednesdays and Sundays). This route, which began operations at the end of last month, had low demand despite being a travel bubble route exempt from quarantine, as it only operated once a week. This was because only 7-night, 8-day long-term travel packages were available. With this additional flight, 4- and 5-day travel packages are now possible from Gimhae Airport, similar to Incheon Airport. Both flights depart at 8 a.m. and arrive at Saipan International Airport at 1:10 p.m. The return flight departs locally at 3:10 p.m. and arrives at Gimhae Airport at 6:30 p.m. The flight time is about 4 hours, and an Airbus A321neo aircraft is deployed. According to the company, the Mariana Tourism Authority will fully cover the local PCR test fees for Korean travelers entering Saipan until May.
