Junggu Cultural Foundation Appoints Lee Junhee as New President
The Jung-gu Cultural Foundation has appointed Lee Jun-hee (48, photo) as its 7th president. He officially took office on the 21st, with a term of three years.
New President Lee Jun-hee graduated from the Korea National University of Arts, School of Drama, and has planned cultural contents such as the Arirang Cine Center independent film theater and village cinemas under the Seongbuk Cultural Foundation through his field experience in performance planning, production, and directing. He also oversaw performance planning at the Mia-ri Gogae Arts Theater, proposing a public-private cooperative regional theater operation model through performing arts festivals, regular performance planning, and repertoire development. Additionally, since 2019, he has served as the head of the Regional Culture Division at the Jung-gu Cultural Foundation, overseeing visual arts in Euljiro, Chungmuro film projects, community cultural projects, arts education, and library services.

President Lee Jun-hee stated, “We will strengthen the role of Chungmu Art Center as a public theater, promote performing arts, foster a cultural ecosystem, and revitalize cultural projects.” Accordingly, the Jung-gu Cultural Foundation plans to expand its performance projects overseas, strengthen governance, increase performances encountered in daily life, and promote reading culture in libraries.
