On the 20th (Korean time), during the third round of the PGA Tour Genesis Invitational, he was interviewed in the CBS broadcast booth by announcer Jim Nantz and commentator Nick Faldo (England). He said, "I will attend the Champions Dinner held at Augusta National on the evening two days before the Masters begins." This event is where the previous year's winner invites past champions to a dinner. He added, "It will be a wonderful meal," and "I am looking forward to seeing what kind of sushi will be served."
The Champions Dinner menu is decided by the previous year's winner. The defending champion is Hideki Matsuyama (Japan). When Nantz asked, "You might be able to participate in the Par 3 Contest the day after the Champions Dinner," Woods agreed, saying, "I can play there." When pressed, "Are you really going to show up there?" he responded, "Hey, let's not get ahead of ourselves." Regarding his return to the PGA Tour this year, he cautiously said, "I want to come out, but I don't know when."

Woods, who said, "I wish I could say I will play in a tournament next week, but I am frustrated too," revealed his thoughts: "I don't know when I will be confident enough mentally and physically to compete in a tournament," and "I am not yet confident to compete and win against top players in majors." Last year, he was seriously injured, breaking both legs in a car rollover accident. Through consistent rehabilitation and training, he finished as runner-up with his son Charlie in the family competition PNC Championship last December.
