"Preparing for Unpredictable Spring Weather" Kolon Sports Launches 'Weather Coat'
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Kolon Industries FnC Division (Kolon FnC)'s outdoor brand 'Kolon Sports' announced on the 15th that it will launch the 'Weather Coat' for the 2022 Spring·Summer (S/S) season.
The Weather Coat is a product first introduced by Kolon Sports in 2018, featuring a long trench coat style that emphasizes functionality for the unpredictable spring weather. Last year’s Spring·Summer season recorded an average sales rate of 82%, with the beige color achieving a high sales rate of 86%.
Building on this success, Kolon Sports plans to triple the quantity of Weather Coats this season, establishing the Weather Coat as an iconic product unique to Kolon Sports. This season, the Weather Coat will be released in three types, emphasizing an overall cape style: Weather Coat Short, Weather Coat Long, and Weather Cape.
The core product, 'Weather Coat Short,' will be available in three colors: Light Pink, Beige, and a printed version of Pale Yellow. The 'Weather Coat Long' comes in two colors: Light Mint and Beige. All colors are pastel tones that shine brightest in the spring season, reflecting the changing atmosphere of Kolon Sports.
The functionality has also been upgraded. To prepare for spring winds and rain, the Weather Coat Short specializes in windproof features, while the Weather Coat Long focuses on waterproof capabilities. The outer fabric uses 3L (layer) material to block light rain and wind while maintaining comfort.

The sewing lines are treated once more with waterproof tape to prevent water from seeping through the seams, applying a 'seam sealing' technique. On the Weather Coat Short, this is applied to the hood and shoulder areas where rain mainly hits, and on the Weather Coat Long, it is applied throughout to enhance waterproof functionality.
