[Asia Economy Reporter Sim Nayoung] The World Health Organization (WHO) emphasized that an additional 16 billion dollars (approximately 19 trillion won) is needed to support low-income countries in their response to COVID-19.
According to foreign media on the 9th, WHO stated, "This amount is necessary to purchase 600 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, 700 million diagnostic devices, and to treat 120 million patients," adding, "We expect 92% of this amount to be shared by European Union (EU) member countries and the Group of Twenty (G20) major economies."
