"Supporting a Vibrant Second Act of Life" ... Gyeongsangnam-do Launches 'New Middle-Aged Tomorrow Connection 50+' Project
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 8th that it will implement the ‘Shinjungnyeon Naeilieum 50+’ project to encourage new employment of the Shinjungnyeon generation in companies.
The ‘Shinjungnyeon Naeilieum 50+’ project is an employment incentive system that supports labor costs for companies hiring Shinjungnyeon job seekers. It provides up to 2 people per company with 2.5 million KRW per person for 5 months to small and medium-sized enterprises and mid-sized companies that newly hire Shinjungnyeon aged 50 to 64.
Participation in the project can be applied by submitting an application form to the Gyeongnam Life Second Act Support Center from the 9th of this month until the 18th of next month. After screening, target companies will be selected and supported in March.
Gyeongsangnam-do started this project in 2020 to reduce the labor cost burden of local small businesses and serve as a stepping stone for Shinjungnyeon reemployment. In 2020, 110 people from 105 companies and in 2021, 110 people from 95 companies achieved new employment creation results.
Kim Chang-deok, Director of the Job Economy Division, said, “I hope that Shinjungnyeon, who are having a harder time due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, will gain better reemployment opportunities through the Naeilieum 50+ project.”
