New teachers appointed from March 1 after job training on February 8
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 4th that a total of 307 candidates have passed the final teacher appointment exam for public kindergartens, elementary schools, and special schools for the 2022 academic year.
The number of successful candidates for public kindergarten teachers is 42, for elementary school teachers is 216, and for special school teachers is 45. For the National Special School (Hanguk Woojin School), 1 candidate passed for kindergarten and 3 for elementary school.
Among the 307 final successful candidates, the proportion of males is 8.6%. The male pass rate by selection field is 2 males (4.8%) for kindergarten and 23 males (10.6%) for elementary school. For public special schools, 1 out of 45 is male. There were no male successful candidates among kindergarten teachers last year, and the elementary school male pass rate decreased by 2.6 percentage points compared to last year.
The passing scores are 159.56 for kindergarten (general) and 139.43 for kindergarten (disabled). For elementary school (general), it is 172.24, and for elementary school (disabled), it is 149.30. The passing score for special school (kindergarten) is 168.67, and for special school (elementary) is 148.80.

The successful candidates will complete a pre-appointment job training remotely from the 8th to the 18th to adapt to the educational field, and will be appointed as new teachers starting March 1 according to the teacher supply plan. Eight private school teachers selected through education office consignment recruitment will also receive the pre-appointment job training together.
