On the 1st, during the Lunar New Year holiday, Yoon visited the Ganghwa Peace Observatory and told reporters that Lee's side had proposed a one-on-one debate since last year, which he criticized as "bluffing."
He said, "I can't question him like an investigative agency, but since the public wanted a bold debate on the parts that have not been properly verified so far, I accepted. Then they said we should only spend 10 minutes on the Daejang-dong issue or not bring any materials," adding, "If they were going to impose other restrictions and bluff like that, they shouldn't have proposed a one-on-one debate at all."
He also said, "The National Election Commission, which seems to be filled with pro-government figures, cut off the possibility of real-time live broadcast or even recorded broadcast of the one-on-one debate," lamenting that the commission effectively banned a one-on-one contest between Yoon and Lee.
