On the 1st, Candidate Yoon pledged to build a 'senior-friendly health infrastructure' through his 'Seokyul-ssi's Heart-throbbing Promise.' The Heart-throbbing Promise is a life-oriented policy aimed at eliminating welfare blind spots hidden in daily life.
Candidate Yoon plans to expand senior-friendly sports such as table tennis, badminton, and vitality yoga at public sports centers, and prepare health promotion programs to prevent aging through cognitive care (dementia prevention) sports like baduk and chess. In addition, he will deploy exercise prescription specialists and support indoor and outdoor fitness programs using advanced technologies such as smart exercise equipment friendly to the elderly. The government or local governments plan to provide incentives such as 'senior-friendly facility certification' to sports facilities and leisure activity spaces that introduce senior health promotion and leisure programs.
The day before, Candidate Yoon also announced plans to improve the waste separation system, maximize collection rates through AI-based recycling collection and reward adjustment, and simplify food waste disposal to promote a 'resource-circulating society in daily life.'
On the 30th of last month, he mentioned improving the 'library guardian consent procedure' so that children can borrow books without inconvenience at libraries, continuing to introduce such life-oriented policies even during the Lunar New Year holiday.
Candidate Lee is in a similar situation. On the previous day, he announced on Facebook a 'Small but Certain Happiness (So-hwak-haeng) pledge' to install solar-powered shade shelters at highway rest areas. This aims to block sunlight entering through windows when resting or sleeping at rest areas. The electricity generated by the solar power panel shade shelters will be used for rest area facilities such as restrooms.
On the 30th of last month, Candidate Lee also promised to implement a sports points system that converts points earned from exercising into local currency and gift certificates.
