Last year, Miryang City carried out the Hope Lunchbox Delivery Project by ordering lunchboxes from local restaurants, with about 34,000 participants generating an economic effect of approximately 300 million KRW.
This year, amid the continued COVID-19 situation including the spread of the Omicron variant and the introduction of the vaccine pass, the city plans to order 200 lunchboxes daily from restaurants struggling with business difficulties.
The city estimates that if about 210 people eat the Hope Lunchbox daily, an economic effect of approximately 1.6 million KRW per day will be generated.
Efforts are being made to encourage not only public institutions but also private companies to participate in the Hope Lunchbox delivery to help alleviate the difficulties faced by small business owners.
