37% of Korean Smartphone Users Use Secondhand Trading Apps
WiseApp Announces User Scale of Major Secondhand Trading Apps
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The number of users of secondhand trading apps increased by 24% last year. WiseApp announced on the 25th that, based on a sample survey of Korean smartphone users aged 10 and above conducted last December, 17.75 million users had used major secondhand trading apps such as Danggeun Market, Bungaejangter, and Junggonara at least once. This corresponds to 37% of the 47.22 million Korean smartphone users aged 10 and above.
Among all generations, the secondhand trading app with the highest number of users was Danggeun Market, with 16.76 million users in December alone. The Bungaejangter app had 3.22 million users, and the Junggonara app had 710,000 users. Danggeun Market was used evenly across all ages and genders, while Bungaejangter and Junggonara showed higher usage rates among people in their 20s and males.

This survey was conducted by the app analysis service WiseApp, sampling Korean Android and iPhone smartphone users aged 10 and above. Apps specializing in used car sales and personal secondhand trading were excluded, as were apps dedicated to secondhand goods specialty malls.
