Gyeongbuk Cheongsong-gun Public Officials Hold Traditional Market Shopping Event Before Lunar New Year Holiday
To Provide Real Support for Revitalizing the Local Economy
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk, is holding a traditional market shopping event from January 24 to 28 in celebration of the Lunar New Year holiday.
The event is being promoted to revitalize the traditional markets and local economy, which have been struggling with business difficulties such as stagnation and decreased sales due to COVID-19.
The event started at Andeok Market on the 24th and will continue until Jinbo Market on the 28th. About 400 participants, including public officials, will purchase ritual items and other goods at traditional markets. It is also planned to support the revitalization of the local economy while gauging public sentiment.
The county plans to form a price monitoring and inspection team to track price trends of Lunar New Year seasonal products and check for excessive price increases and price collusion in order to spread a rational consumption culture.
