The 20 trainees of the 243rd New Police Course (10 open recruitment, 10 special recruitment for ship crew), who began their station training on October 18 last year, have successfully completed 13 weeks of training at frontline field departments including patrol vessels (6 weeks) and police substations (7 weeks), and will start their practical training from today by being assigned to various departments within the police station.
The two-week field training at the police station, the final stage of the new police training, began this morning with a meeting with Park Sangwook, Chief of Jeju Maritime Police Station, education on eradicating chronic misconduct, and instructions on precautions during the training.
Additionally, to ensure efficient training in areas of personal interest, the preferences of the 243rd trainees were maximally reflected in the assignment of training departments, and careful efforts were made such as designating one-on-one mentors.
Kim Taeyoung, a trainee from the Planning and Operations Division's Education and Training Team, said, “I will not forget the joy of the moment I finally passed and will do my best to complete the remaining training period well to become a confident maritime police officer trusted by the public.”
Meanwhile, the 243rd new police trainees are scheduled to be appointed on the 4th of next month.
