Gradual Grade Upgrades Over the Past 3 Years of the 7th Minseon Administration
[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City in Jeollanam-do received the second highest grade, "Grade B," among five grades in last year's comprehensive civil service evaluation jointly conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
According to Suncheon City on the 17th, the city achieved continuous improvement in civil service administration grades over three years of the 7th elected term, receiving "Grade D" in 2019, "Grade C" in 2020, and "Grade B" last year.
This comprehensive civil service evaluation was conducted on 306 institutions nationwide, assessing three major areas and five items including civil service administrative management foundation, civil service administrative activities, and civil service processing performance through document evaluation, on-site inspection, and satisfaction surveys.
Suncheon City received high marks for the head of the institution's external civil service activities, providing incentives for excellent civil service, checking and inspecting civil service processing status, protective measures for civil service officers, operation of social minority consideration counters in civil service offices, and provision of convenience items.
Based on this evaluation result, the city plans to share and spread best practices, prepare improvement plans through education and civil service consulting for insufficient areas, and aims to receive "Grade A" in this year's evaluation.
Heo Seok, Mayor of Suncheon City, said, "This comprehensive civil service evaluation is the result of systematically and comprehensively assessing the level of public service of each institution," adding, "It is meaningful in that it shows that Suncheon's civil service is improving every year."
Meanwhile, Suncheon City opened the Onnuri Call Center in November last year to promptly and accurately resolve citizens' telephone civil complaints, and is expanding the installation of unmanned civil service issuance machines to allow issuance of various certificates without going through civil service counters.
