Government Launches First 'Commercial Law Internship Program' for Undergraduate and Master's Students
Providing Practical Experience Opportunities in International Trade Law for Law Students
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] The government is providing domestic law students with opportunities to gain practical experience in trade law to cultivate trade talent.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 16th that it has launched a trade law internship program for domestic law students and selected two undergraduate and graduate law students.
This program was established to offer students aspiring to become experts in the trade field the chance to experience practical trade law work at the Ministry during their vacation period.
The selected students will be employed by the Ministry and will experience practical trade law work in their assigned departments for about two weeks. They will conduct research projects under the guidance and evaluation of their departments on major trade issues such as World Trade Organization (WTO) disputes and foreign import regulation policies. They will also participate in the government's trade dispute and import regulation response tasks, handling legal reviews and data investigations.

An official from the Ministry stated, "As the main government agency for trade, we plan to continue expanding various experiential opportunities for students to participate in order to broaden the base and strengthen the capabilities of Korea's trade talent."
