2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo, Recruitment of Members for the Pan-Citizen Preparation Committee

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do announced that it is recruiting members for the Pan-Citizen Preparatory Committee to ensure the successful hosting of the 2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo.
The recruitment target is 200 people, and the application period is from January 10 to 28. Recruitment will be conducted through open applications and recommendations from institutions and organizations located in Yeosu City.
The term of office is from the date of appointment until the dissolution of the committee after the conclusion of the Islands Expo. The committee will play various roles such as mobilizing citizen capabilities, carrying out practical movements, promoting the event internally and externally, and attracting visitors to create a hosting atmosphere in preparation for the Expo.
Any Yeosu citizen who has interest and passion for the Islands Expo can apply.
A city official stated, “To successfully host the Islands Expo, which will serve as a stepping stone for Yeosu’s second leap forward, the interest and support of citizens are essential,” and added, “We ask for the participation of many citizens who will help create the Islands Expo by gathering their will and capabilities.”
The 2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo will be held under the theme “Islands, Connecting the Sea and the Future” from July 17 to August 16, 2026, at Dolsan Jinmo District and surrounding islands.
More than 30 countries and 2 million people are expected to participate, sharing the infinite future possibilities that islands hold.
