Lotte Hi-Mart Delivers Support Gifts to Children Aging Out of Care to Encourage Social Advancement
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Lotte Hi-Mart announced on the 12th that it delivered career encouragement gifts to 39 children from grandparent-headed households whose protection ends as they become adults.
Lotte Hi-Mart gifted tablet PCs worth approximately 18 million KRW or home appliances such as rice cookers, microwaves, and vacuum cleaners that help with independence to children from grandparent-headed households who became adults this year. The funds for the gifts were raised through voluntary donations from employees.
Since 2006, Lotte Hi-Mart has been running the "Happy Three Generations Campaign," supporting children from grandparent-headed households by forming sponsorships. Currently, they support 200 minor children from such households and have assisted a total of 1,488 children so far.
