Mintit Donates 50 Million KRW to Save the Children for ICT Talent Development
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Mintit, an ICT subsidiary of SK Networks, announced on the 12th that it donated 50 million KRW collected together with customers through the operation of the AI-based used phone unmanned purchase machine 'Mintit ATM' last year to the international relief and development organization 'Save the Children.'
Since the start of its business in 2019, Mintit has been carrying out the 'ICT Dream Tree Project' as a major business division of its parent company SK Networks. The ICT Dream Tree Project is a social value creation program through SK Networks' information and communication business. When brands like Mintit raise donation funds and deliver them to Save the Children, the funds are used to support the purchase of devices and education for ICT-disadvantaged children.
At the end of last year, Mintit held a used phone donation campaign targeting SK Group member companies using Mintit ATM, with about 2,000 employees from 20 affiliated companies including SK Telecom, SK Hynix, SK Broadband, SK Siltron, SK Ecoplant, SK Incheon Petrochem, and Service Ace participating. Mintit conducted various used phone campaigns linked to the group and collected more than 13,000 donated used phones last year alone.
A Mintit official said, "Among about 30,000 donating customers, those who donated used phones valued at over 1 million KRW and those who donated more than 10 used phones stand out in our memory," adding, "Together with SK Networks, we have raised more than 150 million KRW in donations since 2019 and have been able to support 95 ICT Dream Tree recipients over three years."
Mintit plans to continue donations that carry the meaning of creating social value together with customers, while strengthening its fundamental competitiveness as an ICT recycling business operator to enhance ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management levels through resource circulation.
