Gyeonggi-do to Foster 52 Export Small Giants This Year
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will support 52 export-strong small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) this year.
On the 12th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will promote the "2022 Global Hit Product Creation Company Export Support Project," which discovers promising SMEs wishing to enter the global market in partnership with KOTRA and supports the entire export process from export preparation to overseas expansion.
This year's support targets are 52 SMEs with headquarters or factories located in Gyeonggi Province and export performance of less than 20 million USD in the previous year.
The province gives additional points to companies possessing innovative technologies and products, companies planning to enter countries targeted by the New Southern and New Northern policies, specialized companies in materials, parts, and equipment, excellent employment companies, and social enterprises.
In particular, selected companies will be assigned export specialists in overseas marketing who provide one-on-one customized consulting at each export stage?from export preparation to buyer discovery and customs clearance?considering the company's size and industry comprehensively.
Main support projects include ▲overseas market research ▲translation and interpretation ▲patent and intellectual property acquisition ▲document preparation agency ▲promotion and marketing ▲brand development ▲overseas sales ▲legal, tax, and accounting consulting ▲design development ▲international transportation, etc.
Additionally, an "export voucher" worth approximately 23.57 million KRW (including 30% company co-payment) is provided, allowing companies to select and use desired export support services.
Companies can freely choose from over 7,300 services supported by more than 1,600 implementing organizations such as KOTRA using the provided vouchers.
The province also conducts follow-up management, including overseas marketing consultation services through the assigned export specialists for one year after the project ends.
Ryu Gwang-yeol, Director of the Economic Office of Gyeonggi Province, said, "Despite the difficult trade environment due to COVID-19, many companies are striving to develop sales channels and revitalize the local economy.
