Sangwook Park Appointed as the 27th Chief of Jeju Maritime Police Station
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Park Sang-wook, the 27th Chief of Jeju Maritime Police Station, was inaugurated on the 7th.
Considering the COVID-19 situation, the new Chief Park Sang-wook held no inauguration ceremony but listened to a maritime security briefing in the situation room and encouraged the staff working diligently on maritime security by video calling a 3,000-ton patrol vessel guarding the waters near Jeju.
Chief Park, who joined the maritime police in 1999 as the 47th officer candidate, is from Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam, graduated from Korea Maritime and Ocean University, and has served in key positions such as Busan Maritime Police Station, Equipment Management Division Chief at the Korea Coast Guard, and Intelligence and Foreign Affairs Division Chief at the Central Regional Maritime Police Agency.
Park Sang-wook said, “Based on strong field affinity and a professional spirit of doing our best in assigned tasks, let us work together to protect maritime sovereignty and the rights and interests of the people,” adding, “I will take the lead in creating a safe and clean sea through communication and harmony.”
Meanwhile, former Jeju Maritime Police Station Chief Cho Yoon-man has moved to the position of International Cooperation Division Chief at the Korea Coast Guard.
