Fly Gangwon Obtains Cargo Transport Business License... Anticipating Local Fresh Food Demand
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Fly Gangwon announced on the 7th that it has obtained a cargo transportation business license from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
With the acquisition of the cargo transportation business license, Fly Gangwon plans to actively pursue additional revenue generation following its passenger services. Earlier, the company revealed plans to introduce a medium-sized aircraft with more than 280 seats and utilize belly cargo capable of loading freight under the aircraft fuselage.
Fly Gangwon intends to build infrastructure integrating a cargo terminal and logistics warehouse near Yangyang International Airport to expand related businesses. Last year, it also completed the purchase of approximately 13,000 pyeong of land to establish cargo infrastructure near Yangyang International Airport.

A Fly Gangwon official stated, “As demand for air cargo transportation of fresh agricultural and marine products from Gangwon Province and northern Gyeonggi Province, as well as the e-commerce market, is rapidly increasing, we plan to operate an air cargo business based in Gangwon Province.”
