Contribution to Infectious Disease Prevention and Regional Community Health Promotion
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Professor Seo Junwon of the Department of Infectious Diseases at Chosun University Hospital received a commendation from the Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City in recognition of his efforts in infectious disease prevention management and promoting the health of local residents.
Professor Seo improved awareness of infection control through publicity and education to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
He also contributed to effectively blocking the inflow and spread of infectious diseases by establishing response measures and management systems in the event of an outbreak.
In particular, based on his know-how in managing and operating the Honam Regional Vaccination Center at Chosun University Hospital, he was dispatched to work at the Dong-gu Vaccination Center in Gwangju from July to October last year, promptly handling vaccination pre-screening, adverse reaction monitoring, and emergency treatment, thereby contributing to creating a safe vaccination environment and forming herd immunity.
Professor Seo stated, “I will continue to strive to contribute to medical advancement through clinical and research activities, while maintaining a thorough quarantine system to do my best to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the local community.”
