Korean Learning Braille and Audio Books Also Distributed Overseas
Developed in Korean and English... Free Distribution Within the Year
On the 4th, the Sejong Institute Foundation announced that it will develop and distribute Korean language learning braille books and audio books in both Korean and English. The braille books are produced using a combination of braille and embossed print to accommodate both totally blind and low-vision visually impaired individuals. The audio books feature synchronized audio and printed text. The target audience is beginner-level Korean language learners. These materials will be distributed free of charge to domestic organizations for the disabled, Korean language education institutions, and immigrant centers. In the second half of the year, they will also be delivered to Sejong Institutes and Korean language education institutions abroad. A representative explained, "Considering that the 'Sejong Institute Cyber Korean' site, which allows foreigners to self-study, is not helpful for visually impaired individuals, we began developing alternative learning materials last year." They added, "We will continue to create and distribute various educational materials."
