Lee Woo-jong, President of Gyeonggi Art Center, Resigns on the 4th... "Will Support Candidate Lee Jae-myung"
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Woo-jong (63), president of Gyeonggi Arts Center, resigned on the 4th with nine months remaining in his term.
A Gyeonggi Arts Center official stated, "President Lee Woo-jong recently submitted his resignation letter to Oh Byeong-kwon, Acting Governor of Gyeonggi Province." It is known that Lee will support Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, going forward.
Lee previously served as the general situation room chief at Lee Jae-myung's Gyeonggi Province governor candidate camp during the June 13, 2018 local elections.
Before his departure, Lee reportedly met with some staff members, including the artistic director of Gyeonggi Arts Center, and asked them to successfully lead performance projects such as the "repertoire season system" (a system where performances for a certain period are pre-arranged and shared with the audience).
Accordingly, the acting president of Gyeonggi Arts Center will be temporarily held by the head of the management headquarters.
Meanwhile, among the 27 public institutions under Gyeonggi Province, those with vacant leadership positions include Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Development Corporation (GH), Gyeonggi Research Institute, Gyeonggi Technopark, Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Corporation, Gyeonggi Suwon World Cup Stadium Management Foundation, Gyeonggi Welfare Foundation, Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Corporation, and Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation.
