Park Su-hyun, Senior Secretary at the Blue House, "An Election for Unity, a Desire for a Government Better than the Moon Administration"
Cheong National Communication Chief MBC Radio Interview... "National Achievements Made Together by the People Should Not Be Belittled"
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] Park Soo-hyun, Chief of Public Communication at the Blue House, stated in an interview with MBC Radio's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus' on the 4th that the 'election of integration' mentioned by President Moon Jae-in in his New Year's address reflects the desire for a better government under the Moon administration.
Park explained, "The statement was made with the hope that this presidential election would be one of integration rather than hostility and hatred, and with the wish for a government that develops better than the Moon administration."
Park added, "Economically, we have become an advanced country, but the duty to become a politically advanced country that matches this status also depends on this presidential election."
Park said, "Even amid the COVID-19 crisis, we have become the country with the fastest economic recovery, and employment has reached 99.8% of pre-COVID levels. We are recording the highest economic growth rate during the COVID-19 crisis," adding, "the most important factor behind these achievements was the sacrifice and dedication of the people, including small business owners and self-employed individuals, who absolutely cooperated with the quarantine guidelines."
Park emphasized, "We sincerely hope that the achievements will be acknowledged as they are and that what needs to be inherited will be carried forward, while other measures will be devised to address issues such as real estate and the parts that the Moon administration struggled with, to create a better government than the Moon administration. This is the genuine intention of those in charge of the current government."
Regarding the real estate issue, Park said, "The economic situation and supply shortage caused the rise in real estate prices, bringing pain to the people, especially to those in their 20s and 30s, to the extent that the term 'Yeongkkeul' (borrowing to the maximum) emerged. We feel very sorry about this."
Park stated, "The next government must secure a lot of land to prevent a shortage of real estate supply. Throughout the Moon administration, we have prepared land that can supply 2.05 million households, establishing a supply base that can be handed over to the next government," adding, "we will do our utmost until the very end of the term to create assets to be passed on."
When asked by the host whether he is confident that housing prices have begun to stabilize, Park replied, "I have thoughts close to confidence."
