According to CU on the 4th, sales of the Strawberry Dessert Series doubled in 2019 compared to the previous year, and sales increased by 33.1% last year as well. Especially last winter, five types of strawberry desserts such as macarons, omelets, and slice cakes accounted for more than a quarter of the total refrigerated dessert sales.
In this month’s top 5 refrigerated dessert category sales, three winter strawberry desserts were ranked: Strawberry Omelet (1st), Chewy Macaron Half & Half Strawberry (3rd), and Very Very Rice Cake Skewer (5th). The strawberry tiramisu, released on the 15th of last month, had its sales suspended for about a week as the contracted strawberries for the first batch ran out.
CU will launch the ‘Fresh Strawberry Milky Bun’ on the 5th. This product is a premium dessert filled with fresh strawberries from Nonsan and Sancheong, regions famous for strawberry production, inside a moist and fluffy milky bun spread generously with soft milk cream and strawberry jam.
