'Preview of CES' Over 500 Korean Companies to Launch... Opening the Future of TV and Mobility

Major Korean companies such as Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor Company, LG Electronics, and SK Innovation will all gather at the world’s largest IT and home appliance exhibition, CES2022, held in Las Vegas, USA from the 5th to the 7th (local time), presenting a future summarized by these keywords. At this event, where cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and autonomous driving converge, Korea will dispatch over 500 companies, second only to the United States. Although the event will end a day earlier than scheduled due to the impact of the Omicron variant, domestic companies will showcase various new technology trends at this offline event resuming after two years.
According to the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) on the 3rd, Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Jong-hee Han will deliver the keynote speech at the CES2022 opening ceremony on the 4th, a day before the event begins. Under the theme ‘Together for Tomorrow,’ he will present Samsung’s philosophy based on customer-tailored services through device connectivity and sustainability, covering TVs, home appliances, and mobile devices.
Samsung Electronics will unveil new TV products in line with the CES2022 opening. Marking the beginning of the customized screen era, Samsung will introduce new Micro LED models of 101-inch and 89-inch sizes and improve its proprietary image processor, the ‘Neo Quantum Processor,’ showcasing the ‘2022 Neo QLED’ series featuring numerous new technologies. Additionally, Samsung will apply a ‘Matte Display’ to make TV viewing more comfortable and demonstrate a new gaming standard called ‘HDR10+ Gaming’ in collaboration with NVIDIA, the world’s largest graphics chipset company.
Jung Eui-sun and Jung Ki-sun Visit CES... Presenting Future Blueprints
Among the heads of the four major conglomerates, Hyundai Motor Company Chairman Eui-sun Jung is the only one to appear in person. As Hyundai participates in CES under the theme ‘Expanding Human Reach,’ Chairman Jung is expected to introduce future visions such as new concept robots and robotics, raising discussions on the role of robotics technology in human mobility and future societal changes. Hyundai Mobis will also transform its exhibition space into a metaverse (extended virtual world) and showcase two innovative future mobility concept cars, ‘M.Vision Pop’ and ‘M.Vision ToGo,’ featuring cutting-edge technologies.
Jung Ki-sun, President of Hyundai Heavy Industries Holdings, will attend CES for the first time this year, presenting Hyundai Heavy Industries Group’s future blueprint including marine mobility, robotics, and the hydrogen value chain. This marks the group’s debut at CES since its founding, effectively serving as Jung’s global debut stage. Avikus, a specialized autonomous ship company under Hyundai Heavy Industries Group, will introduce future marine mobility centered on autonomous navigation technology, while Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering will present the group’s marine hydrogen value chain to address the climate change crisis.
LG, SK, Doosan and Affiliates All Participate
LG, SK, and Doosan will have their affiliates fully participate, setting up booths and presenting future visions. LG Electronics will open an online exhibition hall for four weeks from the 4th to the 31st, allowing visitors to experience exhibits in a virtual space. They will also hold the ‘LG World Premiere’ to introduce new concept home appliances focused on customers’ lifestyles and the AI-based future autonomous vehicle concept model, ‘LG Omnipod.’ LG Display will unveil numerous future displays featuring innovative technologies such as the recently revealed next-generation display ‘OLED.EX’ and transparent and flexible OLED solutions.

Doosan will set up a booth in the West Hall, where mobility-related companies such as automotive and autonomous driving gather, showcasing hydrogen-centered eco-friendly energy businesses and advanced future technologies. Participating companies include Doosan Corporation, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, Doosan Bobcat, Doosan Fuel Cell, Doosan Industrial Vehicle, Doosan Robotics, and Doosan Mobility Innovation (DMI), focusing on promoting each company’s new technologies.
