US Court Blocks Biden Administration's 'Vaccine Mandate for Infant and Toddler Caregivers'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A U.S. federal court has halted the COVID-19 vaccine mandate for teachers of the Head Start educational program for low-income preschool children.
On the 2nd (local time), according to the Associated Press, the U.S. Western District Court of Louisiana made this decision regarding a lawsuit filed by 24 states including Louisiana, Arizona, Florida, and Utah against the federal government.
Earlier, the Biden administration announced measures requiring 300,000 teachers in the program to be vaccinated by the end of this month, and mandated that children aged 2 and older wear masks indoors.

Judge Terry Doughty ruled that the Biden administration's measures illegally bypassed Congress and emphasized the importance of the separation of powers. He also stated, "If the administration is allowed to take away Congress's legislative authority, the United States will no longer be a democracy but a monarchy."
